The evaluation process is an important first step in understanding your child’s needs and developing a personalized therapy plan. Here’s what you can expect:

1. Intake Form: Before the evaluation, you will be asked to complete an intake form. This form gathers important information about your child's medical history, developmental milestones, concerns, and any specific goals or challenges you’d like to address through therapy. This helps our therapists understand your child's background and tailor the evaluation to focus on the areas most relevant to your child's needs.

2. Scheduling the Evaluation: Once we receive the completed intake form, we will schedule an appointment for the evaluation. Depending on your child’s needs, the evaluation lasts approximately 60 minutes.

3. Evaluation Session: During the evaluation, the therapist will observe and interact with your child in a supportive, comfortable environment. The session will include a variety of activities designed to assess your child’s abilities, challenges, and developmental milestones. The therapist may ask you questions about your child’s history, behavior, and progress to gain a comprehensive understanding.

4. Sending the Evaluation to Your Doctor and Payer: After the evaluation, the therapist will prepare a detailed report that summarizes their findings, treatment recommendations, and goals for therapy. This evaluation will be sent to your child’s doctor (if applicable) and the payer (insurance company, if necessary) for approval before therapy services begin. This ensures that any medical or insurance requirements are met and that therapy can start as soon as possible.

Once the evaluation is complete and approved, your therapist will discuss the next steps with you and create a therapy plan that’s tailored to your child’s individual needs and goals. We strive to make the evaluation process as smooth and straightforward as possible, ensuring that your child receives the best care from the very beginning of their therapy journey.

We understand that life can be unpredictable, and there may be times when you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. To ensure that we can offer our services to all families in need, we have the following cancellation policy:

• 24-Hour Notice Required: All cancellations must be made with at least 24 hours’ notice. This allows us time to offer the appointment slot to another child who may need therapy.

• Missed Sessions: If you miss a session, you are required to make up the session within 2 weeks. We will work with you to reschedule a makeup appointment at a mutually convenient time.

• No Shows: Any absence without prior notice of less than 24 hours (non-emergency or illness-related) will be considered a no show. No shows take away valuable appointment time for other children and may disrupt your child’s progress.

• Repeated No Shows or Failure to Make Up Sessions: If a child accumulates more than 2 no shows or fails to make up missed sessions within the 2-week window, it may result in dismissal from therapy services. We want to ensure that all children are able to receive the full benefit of their therapy, and consistent attendance is essential for progress.

We understand that occasional cancellations happen, and we strive to be flexible in emergency situations. If your child is ill or there’s an emergency, please let us know as soon as possible, and we will work with you to reschedule. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding of our policy, as it helps us provide the best possible care for all our families.

Specifically, we request that children be fever- and vomit-free for at least 24 hours before returning to therapy. • Hand Hygiene: We encourage everyone to wash their hands before and after each session. Hand sanitizing stations are available throughout the clinic, and we ask that both children and adults use them upon entering and exiting the facility.

If you're interested in group therapy for your child, please reach out to us to inquire about upcoming group opportunities.
