Discover the incredible benefits of Infant Massage.

From the moment your child is born, parents are encouraged to hold their baby close to their bare skin. Skin-to-skin care provides immediate comfort as well as rich sensory input. Studies show that infant massage has a profoundly positive effect on your baby’s physical health.

The benefits of Infant Massage:

Infant Massage can strengthen the bond between caregiver and baby through gentle touch, eye contact, and soothing voice—promoting emotional security and trust. It’s also been shown to help improve sleep, support digestion, and reduce fussiness in infants!

Interaction— supports bonding and attachment and encourages non-verbal communication

Relaxation— improves quality of sleep of baby (and parents too), reduces stress hormones and improves self-regulation via therapeutic touch

Stimulation— Improves sleep patterns and bowl movements, supports brain development, facilitates body awareness and joint mobility, improves blood circulation, provides sensory stimulation and development and boosts immune function

Relief— relieves digestive comfort, increases physical growth and gastrointestinal development in premature infants, improves colic symptoms, relieves pain and tension, stimulates food absorption hormones

Join us for an OT inspired framework that combines exercise with self-regulation for successful participation in peer groups and leisure activities, led by Owner and Occupational Therapist, Stacy Kozlowski!

Designed by a pediatric OT, the ExerSHINE Kids POWER Bootcamp program aims to foster strength and enhance self regulation in children, especially in kids with sensory processing differences by:

  1. Harnessing the neurochemical release from high intensity exercise

  2. Targeting sensory integration principles

  3. Using meaningful themes, graded activities, visual supports and “just right challenges” and

  4. Utilizing foundations of group dynamics to facilitate social participation and promote improved function in daily occupations.

At its core, the ExerSHINE Kids POWER Bootcamp Program acknowledges the invaluable strength and motor skills that are developed through physical exercise, but also targets exercise as a change agent to improve self regulation and functional outcomes in children with sensory processing challenges.
